Okay ... Nevada ... I've only really been to Vegas.

For the amount of time I've spent there, I don't have much to offer ...

Las Vegas: Breakfast .... UPDATE

HASH HOUSE        * * * * *

Remember, I don't award stars -- except for the fact that this place gets FIVE STARS !!!

This is a family breakfast place about 5 miles outside of the strip. THEY MAKE THE VERY LIGHTEST -- BEST -- PERFECT HASH in the United States of America.

This is a place that opens up for the locals, in the morning ... it is not a sobering up place for the middle of the night.

Have the "Everything Hash" with eggs, potatoes and fruit.

EXXXCELLLENTTT !!!

2605 South Decatur Boulevard,  Las Vegas  (702) 873-9479

NOTE: This is their new address.

Las Vegas: Mexican

CASA DON JUAN

THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST MEXICAN RESTAURANTS IN THE USA !!!

That said, I can not imagine a future trip to LV without a visit to this place.

It is only a 5 minute cab ride from the Hilton ... and worth every inch of the cab ride.

Thanks to our friends at The Hash House for this reccomendation.

LIFE IS GOOD !!!

Las Vegas Honorable Mentions ...

There are not that many one-of-a-kind hole-in-the-wall places that I have uncovered.  But, we'll stray from convention here and I'll try to name the chains worth eating at.  Many are on the list of my approved chains on the home page, others are simply extensions of successful places elsewhere.

Stage Deli in Ceaser's is pretty much as good as any NYC deli in NYC.  Gallagher's at New York New York, usually finds me there each trip for a steak.  Emeril's at the MGM will give you the most authentic New Orleans Po' Boy that you'll find outside of New Orleans.  Z'Tejas and PF Chang's are viable, but no different than the one's in your local mall.
